Credit help!!

I have been improving my credit for the last 2 years, the only thing that is a monkey on my back is a judgement which I plan on paying off in the next 2 years. I plan to buy a house... if I keep my credit, aside from this judgement, impeccable and my credit score is above 650, will I be eligible for a house? Also, I know the judgement will stay on for 7 years (I have 5 more years to go), if I pay off this judgement within 2-3 years, do I have to wait until the 7 years are over before my credit looks clean again? or can it improve because I paid it off?
