They can do anything they want to if you let them get away with it.
The following website gives instructions for getting rid of bottom-feeding pond scum collection companies. Don't worry about your SOL- for filing judgements it's from the date of initial default.(1994)You can write to have it removed from your credit reports 7 -1/2 years after default,(providing you haven't paid on it) Don't confuse the two issues,a payment that brings an account current and then defaults again, ONLY affects the SOL for credit REPORTING.
