Old debt from another state

Recently I received a notice from a collector about a debt that was incurred almost 10 years ago while I lived in Texas. I have looked up the SOL for Texas and 4 years is the number across the board for debts, except for a 10 yr SOL on lawsuits. This account is from a health club contract when I lived in Dallas. I now live in Missouri and want to know: why are they bothering me after all these years, and what can I do about it? Would it be that I was just cleared for bankruptcy recently and they got hold of my name and current residence?
