Yes -you can file singly in most circumstances.BUT any joint accounts will be in the filing and your husband could wind up worse off,especially if his name is primary on joint accounts. Your low interest credit cards will quickly raise your rate even if you don't default on them.If you have any low balance low interest cards or store accounts you might try getting those paid off and not pay on the others.Any "no balance due" accounts paid off and NOT USED 3 months before filing and 6 months after FINAL adjudication are exempt from your bankruptcy.Florida is good on car equity and household exemptions. See a lawyer/(if you feel you might be judgement and garnishment proof-just pick the credit you want to keep and can afford, and let the rest default)
