The credit card companies who have made billions of dollars offering unlimited credit to students,cats and dogs and getting honest moral people buried in debt are continuing their lies and deception by having their stooges post on news groups like this.MANY MANY people have been able to retain several credit card and gas and store accounts (paid in full,and unused at least 3 months before and 3 months after final adjudication) when they file bankruptcy.It IS true that if you default on some,and try to keep others going,some of them MAY reduce your line of credit and/or increase your interest rate.However,most probably will not,as they do NOT want to be defaulted on also. Keep your 401K plan,your home equity and your moral imperitive to safeguard yourself and your family. The greedy credit card companies would like nothing better than to have you voluntarily encumber assets they can't touch in judgements OR bankruptcies.
