Yes, I've checked the web site for county records and I am indeed listed on the tax assessor's listing. BUt as you say, whether this is legal or not, we don't know. No, I was not jointly listed on the deed. Apparently that was not allowed because of the age issue. I am consulting with a new attorney who specializes in real estate so maybe we'll have more answers. He was not sure and would have to look into the matter. Doesn't want to risk filing probate, deed transfer, etc.. if there is a chance I can be forced to sell and move out. Multiple problems.
