I will give "bill collector" the benefit of the doubt and assume he is just ignorant,and not malicious. The only time a credit collector can "take" money from your account is if you have given him permission to,either with a check,postdated or not,or a telephone authorization. To imply that they can somehow garnishee your account without a judgement and without any permission from you is nonsense. The "$5,000. fine" referred to is for double withdrawals on a phoned in payment,or a premature deposit of a post dated check.
