I would start by sending a certified letter to the seller, demanding repayment for the un-received merchandise. This shows proof of your attempt to resolve the problem.

If that does not work, consider requesting a “charge back” from your credit card company, This would actually go against the company that charged the card, but in turn would fall back to the seller.

If all else fails, go legal. File formal complaints with the better business bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, your State Attorney General’s office and any others you can think of. This could persuade the seller to return the money just to avoid the aggravation of responding to the claims.

Don’t forget to tell the seller in your certified letter that you are considering these options; chances are they will refund the money because they fear the results of a state or federal investigation.
