That would work - you just don't have much time left to get it done. Just remember that your mortgage company simply wants them paid. If that is what you end up having to do, relax - having a mortgage will do wonders for your credit - after a while your scores will go up anyway. And you can still dispute the items with the credit bureaus after your closing.

After some time has gone by, collection agencies who have been paid will not be so interested you, and they may not respond when you dispute these, then they would be removed.
