If Gulfstate is re-aging the account, you can always send any proof you have of the original date to the credit bureaus. Just be forewarned that it is pretty clear that they keep archives of all correxpondence, so you would have difficulty disputing the real account afterwards.

Personally, I would wait until the 7 years is up (September), and then send in my proof. The credit bureaus won't be able to use the information against you then, and the credit bureau has to remove them all.

Your proof can be an old letter, old credit report, anything that proves the date this account became delinquent.
