Hi Linda! Thanks for taking time to respond & for such informative info, too. Anyways, I made an error on my 1st post. The account/bill sent to collection agency by the creditor(hospital) was actually under his wife's name. He is only the guarantor (now he told me he's not sure if he signed for it!ugh). But he has been paying the hospital directly by his check eversince & only stopped last Oct 20001. Now, the amt per the coll. agency states $7906 whereas per his file on the hospital bill he paid the last time on Oct, it was down to $6800. Now, he's really confused on what's happening here. What he did now is that he sent a payment or resume the same routine paying the hospital directly again (he used to send $100/monthly but sent $300 money order this time). Is what he did correct not dealing w/ the collection agency? Will the hospital validate his resume payment once they receive it? He just rcvd this letter from coll. agency this JAnuary. Thanks again for your help.
