Absolutely! Everyone who has been affected by this nonsense can get involved. I think personal experiences like yours can help influence lawmakers to intervene on the consumer's behalf. They get a lot of money from these businesses, but they can only get votes from us. They listen, and if we are paying attention to how they vote and we let them know it, if does affect the outcome in the long run. It's a slow process though :( Anyone who wants to write their congressman can do it online easily here: http://www.house.gov/writerep/ or here you can write to any number of officials: http://congress.org/ Give personal horror stories they can tell when they make their speeches ;) Also, here is a contact for ABC's "Primetime" news magazine for TV - she interviewed me about something, and she is always looking for good material for their shows... Constance Clarke: Constance.Clarke@abc.com If you don't want insurance companies to use credit for underwriting your auto and homeowner's insurance, write your state's insurance commissioner. Each state has it's own insurance department, and they all have web pages where you can write them. We have to fight back. This system stinks. Linda
