They cannot go after your mother unless, she actually made charges on the account. If she did make charges I would make the creditor start the process before I would address it, most creditors will stop at a simple collection attempt rather than pursue a authroized user who only made a few small charges.. As far as the lawyer, if you are not satisfied, find another one.. simple as that. He should not be evasive with you regarding your case, it sounds to me as though he is trying to convince you to get your mother to pay a retainer to him too..
