The debt no longer existed in '98. Bk wipes it out. There was no longer a debt to charge off.

Yes, when you have it changed and it no longer says "charged off" - when it reads only "included in bk" it will improve your score a little. If you have numerious debts reporting this way, it will raise you score a lot.
