Also make sure you pay your priorities first.Housing ,food,utilities,and transportation.Everyone else will have to wait.DO
NOT let bill collectors pressure you to pay them first.They will try ,and if you give in,you might find yourself out in the street.Anon is right ,some will work with you,some couldnt care less.Keep reading here and you will probably find the answers you need to get you through this.I know I am learning things .Bankruptcy can be an option if all else fails.
