bad check warrents

does anyone know how to find out if you have been turned in for writing bad checks...several years ago 1999 while in CA I wrote several (about 10) bad checks...all were under $100 and all to different companies...after that I moved to anouther city and did not put in an address change...this year i moved to anouther state...i have never been served or informed with any papers and they do not show up on equifax....i have contacted chexsystems in order to find out the amount i owe so i can pay them back...i have no idea how much it is...but am afraid that i have been charged with something criminal..can you be charged without your knowledge and how do you find out without telling anyone where you are...this relates to certain jobs doing crimianal records checks....i have no other record...
