I also have a similar problem. A mortgage company ran my credit report for pre-approval and they came back and said that I have a judgement on my report. I couldn't believe it. I then requested a report from the Big Three and the only CRA that is reporting this information is EQUIFAX. The name on the judgement is J W Calhoun and it was filed in a different state than where I live. I have never been to that state nor purchased anything in that state. My name is Janice Calhoun and I don't have a middle initial. I called the company that has the judgement against J W Calhoun. I told them my name and they said that they don't have any documents with a name of Janice Calhoun. However, they are showing a person by the name of J W Calhoun. The company is a furniture store and they told me that they don't take social security numbers. My question is, if they don't take ss#'s, how can they post a judgement on someones account. They faxed me a letter stating that the account was not mine so that I could give it to the mortgage company. But in the meantime, I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against Equifax.
