I was asking if you were served for a reason - if you were not served, the judgment can be vacated. If they were garnishing your pay, that's different - you knew something was going on.

The best thing to do is to get a copy of everything in the court files, and see what it says. Most of the time, these filings have all kinds of legal errors and may have grounds for you to have the judgment vacated.

It's best to have a lawyer look at them, if you don't know what you're looking at when you read them ;)

The judgment will always be there otherwise. And moving out of state could have stopped the SOL closk on the judgment in NY - I don't know a lot about that part, but you can check on http://www.lawdog.com
