I'm sure what you are saying about losing a lot more but I will say it was explained to me that this loan is actually a loan against myself and in the case of a default it would actually have been considered a withdrawal from my 401k account in which I would have to pay taxes as it adds to my income. However I will seek the advice of a lawyer as I am a bit dumb in this area. I live in Louisiana and if you have more to add then feel free to respond.
