Bankruptcy advice from an atty

He told me to call and negotiate payment plans with all of my creditors for the next three months and then call him to begin the filing process. So far two of the cc companies I call have no flex pay departments. They either want to consolidate all of your debt through their special credit care program or refer you to a credit counsler of their own choosing. I do not want to go this route as I cannot afford to go on such a plan, I can't even afford to pay minimums on all of my cards for the next three months. Should I find another atty to talk to. Also, I have on large debt with MNBA for 22,000.00 most of it was used to pay lawyer fees (from my divorce) and to help me live from day to day. I have no assets of value and a clerical job that pays me barley enough to live. Will they sue me or garnish my wages?
