So, if those debts appear on my credit report after 7 years, I can fight it? I have all of my credit reports that list date of last activity - is that sufficient documentation? What do I do to counteract this? Do I write to the credit bureaus and/or - ahem -politely inform the collection agency that what they are doing is illegal and state the FCRA portion that pertains to that? I just want to be forewarned and forearmed.
