They will tell you they have to have all kinds of crap, but I have heard of people with nothing more than similar names getting hit with womeone else's derogatory info, and then when they disputed it they were accused of using a credit repair firm. The CA verified the debt even though they didn't have any identifying info.

Fact is the CRA's do not check anything, and if the CA says it is yours, the CRA's believe them and not you.
