Thanks for the vote Dave, but I don't advocate debt management programs. I think they are a bad alternative at best and at worst, a lot of them are pure scams. The take a large portion of the consumer's payment, leaving little to go towards the debt, the consumer's credit is trashed anyway, and they are out all that money.

Even the legitimate credit counseling programs hurt consumers more than they help them. They work for the creditors, not for the consumers.
