To negotiate a settlement without a lawyer's help, what exactly should be included in a proposed settlement letter and how do you get them to agree to the terms, or even have it signed by someone in official capacity on behalf of the c.c. company? My lawyer said I could do this myself but still, want to make sure my account isn't sold to a collection agency, I'm not sued, etc.,
