I live in Houston,Texas. The research I have done indicates Judgements are only good for 10 years in Texas, but they have a two year window to refile. I bought a home a couple of years ago and I am trying to refinance. The Judgement popped up on the Title Report. The original Title Report at the time of purchase was clean. I might have some recourse against the Title Company. The Bank got the Judgement in 1993, but the lawyer representing the Bank did not file an Abstract of Judgement until 1995. I'm not sure when the clock starts ticking (1993 or 1995).

Do you think I should just wait it out, or consult an attorney to see if I can get rid of the thing? Any advice on what attorney to contact?
