No problem. First, if you paid by check, contact the bank you were dealing with at that time, and request bank records for the time period where you would have paid this off.

If you did not pay by check, or some other reason keeps you from getting those records, just pretend that you are waiting for the bank to send you records. Sorry to tell you to be dishonest, but I think sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire. I think you can stall them that way until April. If isn't a long time.

The whole thing sounds really screwy to me. What bank is it?
