Gulfstate again and again

Hi I have a credit report from equifax that I owe 732 dollars to gulf state credit I have never been contacted by these people but the debt is mine I just found out about it I let a friend not anymore get cable tv in my name he told me he paid it and that was 4 yrs ago well suprise suprise he did not pay it so I called the cable company and told them the truth and that I would pay it and asked them if they would remove it from my credit file they told me that they would accept payment for the account but I would have to ask gulfstate about the removel so guess what good old gulf state has been doing marking me 120 + days late thats what 4 times now they claim I have been late that long I have not paid the debt I have contacted the company osi and they have given me a 800 333 0480 number to call I have the st louis number its a 314 area code number and I have the ceo's home phone number and address the chief financial officers home number and address also now when I spoke with the lady sue she was actually pretty cool and told me to speak with this other woman and told me if I had a problem to call her back so wtf do I do now any thoughts
