i had a discover card opened in 1995, i got behind in payments in 1998, now a collection agency is calling me telling me that the last activity was a payment made in 2000, and it was charged of in Jan 2001, i'm sure i didn't make a payment in 2000. what can I do? They want to settle for 2500.00, with interest and all they said the debt is now 4,900. There's no way I can pay it.
