The settlement bill included the interest and that is why it was more than the original purchase of the car.

At this point I'm not as interested in getting the lien off the title as I am getting rid of the car. I would be more than happy to return the car to him, however, I don't want this situation to negatively impact the co-signer of the note. At the same time I really don't want to pay a $5000 debt that is six years old.

Any additional thoughts or inputs? thanks for the reply.
