CA purchased my 9 y/o debt ..... Is it legal to sue me at this late in the game?

I have been contacted by a collection agency that says that they have purchased a 9 year old debt that has already be charged off. They say that they will sue me if I don't pay them 2800.00 in 30 days OR I can put it on another credit card. The CA insists that a credit card debt qualifies as a written agreement, however, I have only found that credit card debts are open accounts. In Ohio, written contracts SOL is 15 years, and I am not sure if open accts. are under this same SOL. Please help me....This CA has called me 16 times in 48 hrs and 3 times at my work. What should I do??? Please help!!
