I have almost $25,000 credit card debt; much from helping daughter thru college. Two years ago I put all the bills in a debt management service--missed two payments in Dec/Jan and now am getting calls from the original credit card companies that I have been dropped from the program although they have not said this to me. My bills were never overdue but I thought this would be easier; big mistake as the Citibank one is more than when I started! I am thinking about filing for bankrupcy. All these cards are in my name only so does my husband have to be involved in any way?? Also, I can't take risk of garnishment as it is greatly frowned on when you are a nurse and there is even a place on the nursing renewal asking about bankrupcy and garnishments. I am in KS. Friend filed who had $186,000 worth of debt(ohMY) and it cost her total of $800. Is this reasonable? HELP.Diana
