Question about mortgage.

I'm going to be getting married in a couple of months. My fiance has excellent credit, i have terrible credit. 2 chargeoffs and some late payments on my credit report. Will this affect the both of us on how much money we can get for a mortgage. We would both like to have the mortgage in both our names. Please anyone, if you can help me on this i would greatly appreciate it.
