No no no no!! Don't do it! Settlement means charge-off. Charge off means bad credit. Not only that, the charged off debt will still be sold to the collection agencies and your nightmare will begin again. They are not lying to you, they just aren't telling you everything. Why should they? Then you wouldn't do it.
