After you get this settled, and you know the SOL is up, have those ole addresses deleted from her report. It usually doesn't take much, and then if the debt does get sold to a CA, it will be much harder for them to locate her. If you do it before the SOL is up, it would interfere with her right to defend herself. After, no problem!

A lot of old, old debts are coming back to haunt people because of mergers and acquisitions.

Also, your question re SOL - no, if she has kept her adress information up to date (hasn't been hiding) she is in the clear.
