Dealings with Certain Card Companies?

Has anyone had any experience in dealing with Fleet, Associated and MBNA? Had a harassing call from someone in collections at Fleet and he was trying to bargain his way into having me send in a payment. Sounded like a real con artist and wouldn't take no for an answer. I didn't agree to any of his 'one-day only deals.' He had a copy of my credit report and when I told him that a charge off listed was incorrect and I was dealing with the credit bureaus on it he laughed and said 'I've been doing this job a long time, don't give me that.' Of course it doesn't matter if he believes me or not, just the idea and what nerve. Just wondering if anyone has had good or positive results with the above companies as far as working with them on hardship programs or settlements. Thanks.
