Dave, I have seen many people do themselves as well as use companies for negotiation of settled lump sum payments (I am not apposed to this type of settlement because the owner of the debt agrees...this is biblicly correct), However, everytime I have seen the results on a persons credit report (been doing this for 17 years) it has always stated the same basic thing..."this account consumer settled for less than the full amount" It now shows as a PAID R9, I9 etc and the date of last activity is the date the settled amount was paid by the company or consumer. Paid or unpaid, it still KILLS your credit and the 7 years starts from the day paid.
How does your company get around this?
