citibank collection on12year old inactive account

I got a phone call last night from a collection agency ( I think) she didnt really say, over a citibank credit card I had 12 years ago. She wanted to make a deal for me to pay saying the interest is more then the orginal debt at this point, like 9,000. I thought this was all settled in my divoce 12 years ago, She told me it was up to me to pay it and then I could sue my exhusband for the money back. Yeah, like I'm remarried and have 3 kids now, and who knows where he is, Anyways, my current husband is pissed and I'm scared. He's in the miltary and afraid they will take some of his wages and he only makes 19,000 a year. I thought it was 7 years or something on bad debt, I never filed bankrupty but I havent been contacted on this debt in like 8 years. some one help me if you know what I could do about it.
