Try this; Send a dispute letter (RRR) to whoever "validated" the screwed up account.Dispute the debt completely,say the account as reported is incorrect and not yours.(that is true-since whoever is reporting doesn't have your account any more,and has given you incorrect information about who DOES have it) wait the 30 days after getting your green card,check the CRA's to see if a "disputed" notation has been added.If not,file a letter with the MCNB under violation of the FCRA,the CRA's with copy of your dispute letter and green card,AND a copy of their "verification".File a complaint on line with FTC on both,with copies of your filing to both.
