My Wife is being sued by a credit card company for $1,500 dollars in debt. When she loses, what can the credit card do to collect the money ? I have heard they can attach a checking account, can they do that in the case of a joint checking account ? I am not on the credit card, thus am not involved in the suit,

Also what can they do in terms of her car that she is paying on ? Basically what avenues do they go after first and do they attempt to work out something ?

In attaching a checking account, how long a period does that cover ? I ask because at any given time there is nothing in the account.
