Is it the actual Dept. Store credit collection department that calls? or is it an outside Collection Agency ? Original creditors are exempt from FCDPA, if you tell us your State, there may be State laws that will help you. In the meantime, get the name and tel.# and mailing address of whoever is calling,tell them you need to have them send any further requests in writing,or you will report them to your State's consumer protection division.
