The date reported has nothing to do with the SOL or the 7yr limit. It is the date of last activity, if you paid them then they can update the credit report to reflect the payment reseting the 7yr clock. If they changed the last activity and you didnt make any payments then they are violatiing the FCRA. The last activity is generated by the consumer not the CA.
