Iam now 27 years old and apparently when I was around the 17/18 range I had a check bounce from a local grocery store in Illinois for 60.00...after all this time passed i recieved a certified letter on it and then papers to appear in court ,wich was just meeting with the collection agency, they made this 60.oo debt be 600 in some odd dollars with damages, court cost, interest charges exc, they told me I had no choice but to pay this amount..i made payments of 30.00 per week for a while and around the holidays stopped payin the balance is now 240.00..they are taking me back to the court house to meet with the collection agency again and adding another 100 some dollars on in court costs and interest....i think this amount due has been payed in full along time ago..and how can they repetitavely charge me court costs when not once have i had to see ajudge or be in a court room?only in a side room ,,just me and the credit agency?i have searched the net for anything on this to use in my defense but cannot find any?do i have any defense or is it all legal and lagite?
