but in the 'southern' states (ie: SC)... ohhh yeah they are filing them - $25 court costs and the court does the paper work - magistrates court... takes about 10 minutes - and the magistrate can order you to pay them $300 or 3x check amount PLUS the check PLUS $30 fee PLUS court costs of $40... - been there, done that - thank god it was a stolen check and NOT my signature on it.
