Right now, don't worry about the dates -- they're only important if you have something on your credit report or if you're worried about being sued.

What you want to do here is force GS to validate the debt. It's GS's job to find contracts, dates, etc. THEY have to prove that you owe the debt -- you don't have to prove you don't.

And by the way, after they aren't able to validate, I'd dispute those inquiries they put on your credit report (if they are "hard" rather than "soft" inquiries). After all, if you don't legally owe anything to them, they have absolutely no permissable purpose to look at your credit report.
