I will leave it to WHY CHAT to explain the technicalities of it to you. But believe me, that's the way it is.

An interstate business must be prepared to answer in any state where they choose to operate. They came after you, they chose to operate in your state, you can take them to court in your state, in your town, at your nearest, most convenient appropriate court.
