I was involved in breaking the windows out of someones car, at that time I was arrested and ordered to pay "restitution" fees for the cost of replacing the windows. There were 2 estimates for this replacemtn and i was ordered to pay the highest of the two and did so. The person who had insurance on the car also filed a seperate claim with the insurance company outside of the court judgemnet and now I am being told by a collection agaency that I have to pay in excess of 3,500 dollars for the windows, but I allready have through a court. I paid for the cost of replacemnt through a court....Now the person wants more money due to filing a claim with there insurance company. Since this was setteled by a court the collection agency is saying that is classified as a "criminal" situation, and that the person who filed with the insurance company filed a "civil", there were no police reports, no investigations, nothing from this insurance company where the claim was filed, that I have allready paid for through the courts. AM I responsible for this? second, cost since I have allready paid for the replacemnt?
