My niece is in NY, but I am in SC, and she has given me the full Power of Attorney to take charge of her debt. She originally became delinquent last September, then paid them $250 once last month, and now of course she is completely broke. This is the only derogatory report on her credit, but that's because she has borrowed money from so many friends to whom she still owes more than $10K, but now there are no more friends to run to. Just me left.
