Old Utility Bill Collection - please help!

6 years since I moved out of Chicago, IL and moved to living in Oregon. Yesterday, I ordered my Equifax report and I was shocked with a collection report on ComEd electricity bill of $77.00 from 7/96. And, I had paid every bill ontime and I cancelled the service and paid them the rest of the bill when I moved out. I had no bad thing in my report ever. I never received from either ComEd or collection company. What should I do? Should I call the utility company or collection company? Thanks for the help!
