The carreonandassociates.com site does NOT cater to the "credit industry." It's a consumer rights site and has tons of info on how to repair your credit, including sample letters to send to get creditors off your back.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would think a cc company would *require* debtors to use the SOL for the creditor state, which is often Delaware -- a state that has one of the SHORTEST statutes. That would work directly *against* the creditor and *in favor of* the consumer -- something cc companies are hardly known for.

Also, when creditors sue, they ALWAYS sue in the DEBTOR'S state -- which costs the creditor time and money they wouldn't have to spend if they could sue in their own state and get away with it. They can't. That's why they often write off debts rather than pursuing them in court -- it's easier and more cost-effective than suing a debtor in a far-away state. If they could file suit in their OWN state, they'd do it a lot more often.
