Well, this is my first post, but found many of your posts helpful. For the past 3 years I have been divorced and battling with my ex-h and the bank regarding a Jeep and a Boat loan we had together. In the decree he was given the items along with the debt. Soon, he started paying them late, then a year ago, he quit paying all together. I tracked him down in Chicago (I'm in Seattle) and gave all of his information to the bank. We then had the Jeep repossessed in December. Well, after repo charges and auctioning it off, the balance is still over $8,000 and this morning a collection agency called me to make arrangements. I was very helpful to her and told her I would give her all the information I had. She said there was a possibility that the bank may settle with me on a small sum and then go after him for the larger balance. Has this ever happened to any of you before? What's my best outcome here??
